Engineering Technician IV | Cleveland, OH

Job Summary:

The Engineering Technician IV position supports IT infrastructure and Audio-Visual (A/V) collaboration solutions for the International Space Station (ISS) Program. This role involves rapid response to conference room issues and ensures high-quality transmission and operational efficiency in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities:
  • Develop, review, and analyze engineering designs, schematics, electrical drawings, and specifications.
  • Conduct technical analyses and testing for IT and A/V conference room equipment.
  • Install, support, and maintain IT and A/V equipment for legacy and new systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and apply software updates or patches.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to conference room equipment, networks, and hardware/software.
  • Provide ad-hoc training to end-users and room operators to enhance system usability.
  • Resolve work orders and incidents according to service level agreements.
  • Work closely with team members and clients to resolve technical challenges.
  • Engage in root cause analysis to prevent incident recurrence.
  • Monitor data traffic and ensure network resource performance aligns with operational standards.
  • Conduct dry runs and testing to verify system readiness.

Required Skills:
  • AS or BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in cable plant work with fiber optic, copper, and category cabling.
  • 3+ years of experience troubleshooting A/V and network equipment.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting A/V conference equipment and IT systems.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret network drawings, identify telecom color codes, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Expertise in configuring switches, routers, and WAN acceleration devices.
  • Knowledge of systems such as Crestron, AMX, Cisco, and other conferencing technologies.

This is a full-time role. U.S. citizenship is required. All candidates must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance (PTC).
